Member of the Month

Our very special August member of the month is Jeanne Rachuba. Jeanne is originally  from Metaire , attended our neighbor Mt Carmel and then went on to major in Art at UNO.   A month before Katrina hit, Jeanne left New Orleans for Houston where 3 years later she had completed her MFA in Painting and Drawing. Coming to the realization that there was ” no place like home ” Jeanne returned to NOLA and is currently teaching art at Mt Carmel.

Jeanne married her husband Reggie on 10/10/10 who is an artist himself and teaches art at Mt Pius.  What a creative and talented couple they make !  Not only do they love to be creative, they also make time for their chihuaha and schnauzer Daisy and Rosie.  Jeanne loves to draw, play with the pups and reluctantly admitted she has an addiction  to Netflix. Her current favorite: Orange Is The New Black .

Jeanne joined The Parks exactly one year ago and at the time was struggling weight and couldn’t run at all. Today, thanks to Kristie, Zach and all of the support she has gotten from The Parks along with a lot of hard work sweat and tears, Jeanne has lost 40 pounds and RAN 1 MILE WITHOUT STOPPPING!  Jeanne credits the club for being a “safe haven, a home away from home”   We credit Jeanne with working her butt off and wish her continued success in reaching all her goals.
