Member of the Month

June’s very special member of the month is Lee Peyton.  Lee, born and bred in the Lakeview area has two brother’s Pat and fellow Park’s member Tim.  Lee was a heck of an athlete back in the day.  At Rummel he excelled in football, baseball and golf. One amazing highlight of his youth in sports is being a player on the 1965 Little league World Series Championship team ! I They beat Formosa and were champions.  Very cool !  Lee then went on to serve in the Louisiana Army National Guard.

After school , Lee joined the NOPD and afer a distinguished 30 year career retired as a  Detective Seargent . Thank you for your service to the nation and our great city!  Lee is proud of his two daughters that both graduated  this year from UNO and Southeastern.

Some of Lee’s hobbie’s include golf, reading, especially historical fiction and the works of James Lee Burke. Oh, and how can I forget, Geaux Saints!

Lee can usually be found pedaling away on one of the recumbent bikes, 5 to 6 days a week.  Working out has kept him away from a sedentary life style and helped him with his cardiovascular health, keeping his weight down, and of course all the mental benefits that come with exercise.  The Parks wants to thank lee for being a member of our family, and encourage him to keep up the great work !
