Massage Etiquette

Massage therapy is a partnership between the massage therapist and the client. It’s a relationship that demands equal energy and respect for both parties. Many times as a client you’re not sure what it expected or necessary to get the most out of your massage. We have found the following to be great massage etiquette…

1: What if I’m Late?
This can happen to anyone. For both you and your therapist common rules of courtesy apply. The appointment should start and end on time. If possible arrive a few minutes early. If you arrive late, expect the session to still end at the appointed time. Also promptness guarantees you’ll receive your full appointment.

2: What time of Day is Best?
This totally depends on you. Some people love a morning massage that energizes and gets them ready for the day. Others prefer to get a massage at the end of the day that dissolves the day’s stress. Find what works best for you.

3: What should I do during my Massage?
The most important thing you can do is breathe and relax. This will help you get the most out of your massage. Also communicate with the therapist. Let them know what works and doesn’t work for you. They are there to help you and communication is crucial in letting them do that.
