Trainer Bio!

Hailing from Hiram, Maine is David Dekay, our awesome trainer who thrives on motivating his clients by gearing plans towards their deficiencies, needs and goals and seeing them through to success. This trainer believes health is a way of life and should never be a chore.

  • David has a Bachelors degree in Athletic Training with a concentration in Fitness and Wellness from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and a Masters in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University.
  • He is a certified Athletic Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Performance Coach, Functional Movement Certified and a Certified Personal Trainer.
  • David was a Major League Baseball strength and conditioning coach for two years.
  • This guy’s favorite cheat meal? Pizza with “some type of hoppy beverage,” polished off with some ice cream. “After that, I have to exercise for the next six days,” he says.

At the core of it all, David believes that health and fitness means being active and eating healthy. “Going on walks, biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, dancing, gardening, skateboarding, rec sports, whatever. Theses are all great ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle and not one involves doing a sit-up. If it’s a hobby, you’ll continue to want to do it. If it’s a chore, you’ll loathe it.”
