Reach Your Goals – #MyParks
At the beginning of summer, we all set goals for ourselves. “This is going to be the summer I drop 10 pounds,” or, “I want my body to be beach ready by the 4th of July.” But the 4th is right around the corner and many of you may not have reached your fitness goals. For most of us, going to the gym is a solo adventure where we blast our headphones and try to get in and out as quickly as possible. But, what if the missing piece to your fitness success was connecting to your gym community? For the month of July, try leaving your headphones in your gym bag and get to know a staff member, trainer, or someone from your group fitness class. Get out of your comfort zone and attend a new class. Instead of cardio, maybe try lifting some weights. My point is that if you haven’t reached your summer goals yet, you’ve got nothing to lose. And to take it a step further, log on to Facebook and share your new experience with your gym community using #MyParks. You may learn about that class you’ve always wanted to try or that trainer you’re always smiling at. Try teaming up with another gym member for some extra accountability and support.
